Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get in contact with you?
The best way to reach us is by email at contact@castlecladbricks.com.
Our workshop in Sweden is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Swedish time (CET/CEST). Depending on your time zone, our reply may take a little while, but we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
How do you make your prints?
We source our bricks in bulk directly from LEGO's Pick a Brick (PaB) program, and do everything ourselves from there – hand-drawn designs in our own custom software, print preparation, and the printing itself.
Every piece is inspected for defects or shipping damage, and anything that doesn't meet our standard gets discarded. Some pieces need a bit of extra care and are hand-polished to remove superficial scratches or existing prints before they're ready for our own designs.
Some of our torso prints start out on genuine LEGO torsos that are only available pre-printed. In these cases, we carefully polish away the existing print to reveal the base color underneath. We leave in place the small dark mark LEGO prints on the front of the neck stud, which helps their machines tell front from back during assembly. Polishing it away would wear down the neck stud and loosen the fit of the head. When we print on these torsos, we follow the same front/back convention for consistency.
All printing is done using pad printing, the same technique LEGO uses on their own figures and pieces, rather than UV printing or decals – other common methods used for custom figures. Because it's the same process LEGO themselves use, our prints match the surface finish, texture, and feel of an official LEGO print, and hold up the same way: they won't easily wear off, scratch away, or peel like others can.
What is your quality control like?
Every piece is inspected at multiple stages – after sourcing, after polishing, and after printing – not just once at the start. We discard any piece that doesn't have a smooth enough surface finish, fails a scratch test comparable to normal use, or has flaws visible to the naked eye. If there's an error or defect in our printing, those pieces are polished again and recycled back into production, which helps keep our prices down.
That said, this is a handcrafted print shop, so small variations will occur!
Do you use real LEGO?
All our prints are made on genuine LEGO elements, sourced directly from LEGO’s Pick a Brick.
However, this is not a LEGO product. All products sold by Castle Clad Bricks i Älmhult AB are independently designed and produced by us, using genuine LEGO elements that we print and modify. LEGO, the LEGO logo, and the Minifigure are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this website or its products.
The LEGO Group is not responsible for these modifications and is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from the use or misuse of these products.
What will shipping cost?

How do I make a change to my order?
We can’t edit an order once it’s placed. If it hasn’t shipped yet, you can cancel it in a couple of clicks from your account and place a new one with the correct details. See How to request a return or cancel an order.
How do you handle returns and refunds?
EU, Norway, and UK customers: you can return items within 14 days of receiving them, without giving a reason. Return shipping is at your own cost: use our PostNord label (its cost is deducted from your refund) or send it yourself with any tracked service. We refund the item price and your original shipping within 14 days of your request.
US, Canada, Switzerland, and Australia customers: we don’t accept change-of-mind returns. You can cancel an order until it ships.
Everyone: if an item arrives damaged, faulty, or wrong, email us and we’ll make it right at no cost to you.
We don’t offer exchanges. Request a return and place a new order instead. See our Refund policy for full details.
How do you handle environmental impact?
Our production process produces no liquid waste. Printing fumes are captured with filtering pellets instead of being vented out, and spent pellets are sent for recycling. Solid production waste is sorted and recycled too.
Our packaging is chosen to protect your order while meeting current and upcoming EU packaging rules.
